Best Diaper Rash Cream
Diaper Rash! If you're a mom or dad that has any experience with this, you know what a nightmare it can be. No one wants to see their precious little one in pain!Just think how you would feel if you had "diaper rash"! Not a pleasant thought. I have found a diaper cream that I recommend hands down!
Desitin... but which kind?
In the baby section of any store you'll find several diaper creams to choose from. It's hard to know which one is actually going to work! They all say they have the same basic ingredients, so why do they perform so differently? I'm here to solve the problem! And tell you which diaper cream has worked the best for me. I've tried 7 different name-brands! Much to my dismay... I was disappointed after using most of the diaper creams! They were too watery, too thick, or stained! The one thing I needed was some relief to my little one's diaper rash! I had some success with Desitin's Creamy diaper cream. So I decided to see what their "Original" was like. I got it home and used it right away. Within 2 uses, my little girls diaper rash was gone!! I couldn't believe all the money I had wasted on all the other kinds of diaper cream. When all along, the original form of desitin did the trick immediately. I am sold and now I keep Desitin Original stocked in my house along with all the diapers and wipes.
With anything, there are pros and cons!Pros - Stays on your little one's bottom and not the diaper
- Provides a strong barrier against wet and soiled diapers
- Heals diaper rash within the first few uses
Cons (only one)- Takes more than one "wipe" to get off
I highly recommend this diaper cream to any Mom! When purchasing desitin's original diaper cream make sure you buy the right one! Desitin has 3 different kinds. Look for "Original" on the box.... it will also have PURPLE packaging.
Quick TipIf your child's rash has puss filled bumps, or pimple like heads, he/she may have a yeast rash. You may want to consult your doctor (always recommended). I was told to use an over the counter yeast infection treatment. It clears it up within 3-4 days. You simply apply it a few times per day. I did morning and night, sometimes an extra application in the middle of the day. BUT... remember that a "yeast infection treatment" does not protect your child bare skin! I usually only left it on for 20-30 minutes before I put another diaper on with diaper cream (Original desitin). This way, the treatment has time to work, but you also protect against more irritation if your child has a wet or soiled diaper. My doctor had recommended applying diaper cream on top of the "yeast infection treatment". I tried this, but it didn't work. I found it best to do it by itself. Just don't leave it on for more than 30 minutes; this will help you avoid a wet diaper irritating your baby's little bottom! Happy Diaper Changing!
